2) Skin divers and swimmers sometimes purposely hyperventilate. Doping so doesn't increase the oxygen available to tissue. It does increase blood pH (making it more alkaline), and it decrease the blood level of carbon dioxide. Based on your reading in the chapter, what effect is hyperventilation likely to have on the neural control of breathing?

Answer: Intentionally hyperventilating will start a positive feedback loop in which the neural controls for breathing will be upregulated.
