For this case we have that by definition, the Pythagorean theorem states that:

c ^ 2 = a ^ 2 + b ^ 2

According to the rectangle data we have to:

65 ^ 2 = 63 ^ 2 + x ^ 2

We cleared:

x ^ 2 = 65 ^ 2-63 ^ 2\\x = \pm \sqrt {4225-3969}\\x = \pm \sqrt {256}

We choose the positive value:

x = \sqrt {256}\\x = 16

Finally, the width of the rectangle is 16m

ANswer:

16m
