It is given that, ΔRST, the measure of ∠T=90°, ST = 8.7 feet, and TR = 7.1 feet.

From this we get ΔRST is a right angled triangle.

To find the measure of <S

Side ST be the adjacent side of <S and side TR be the opposite side of <S

Therefore , Tan(S) = Opposite side/Adjacent side

= TR/ST

= 7.1/8.7

= 0.816

m<S = tan⁻¹(0.816) = 39.2 ≈ 39°

The measure of <S = 39°
