How important is the transgender movement on your campus or in your home community? What personal experiences lead you to believe that gender either should or should not be defined by rigid norms that prescribe “female” and “male” appearance and behavior?

This seems like an opinionated and experience question but:

In my community, the transgender movement is important to a lot of people. There have been protests for the LGBT community to have rights. People can be weird about the bathrooms and it's kind of ridiculous. If you identify as male you can use the male restroom. If you identify as female use the female bathroom. Gender role's with clothing matters because of body shapes and proportions. The transgender movement in my community means a lot to a lot of people and they'll fight for their rights as humans.
