Hence, the temperature of the solution after 3 hours can be obtained thus :

Final temperature = (initial temperature + (temperature change per hour * Number of hours))

Temperature after 3 hours :

-14.96 + 2.9(3)

-14.96 + 8.7

= - 6.26
