For this case we have a function of the form
y = f (x), where:

f (x) = - x ^ 2 + 1

We must evaluate the function for
x = -3

Then we have to replace:

f (-3) = - (- 3) ^ 2 + 1\\f (-3) = - 9 + 1

Different signs are subtracted and the sign of the major is placed:

f (-3) = - 8

ANswer:

f (-3) = - 8
