a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.
From this information, we can infer that community means friendship and socialization. How do we feel when don't have these? From past experience, I can say that I have felt depressed due to lack of friendship and socialization.

Community is important because it is a feeling of friendship. Without friendship and socialization, we tend to feel depressed and lonely.
