How are meiosis and mitosis similar

Both the process of mitosis and meiosis are types of cell division which occur in different types of cell in body but they posses some similarities like:

1. Both types of process follow the same process like DNA replication and condensation, chromosomal segregation, spindle formation.

2. Same mechanism for segregation of chromosomes like microtubules, centrosomes and motor proteins.

3. Both have same stages like interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.

Mitosis and meiosis are similar in that they are both forms of cellular reproduction, and they both, consequently, produce daughter cells. Both processes also use the same four steps: prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
