Answer:

Take x and 5x for example.

5x is a multiple of x.

If you were to add x and 5x, you'd get 6x.

So basically, when you add x and a multiple of x, just add 1 to the number in front of the multiple of x.

[Like how we did earlier, 5x + (1)x = 6x]
