All of the following are correct except B.

You should not shift between tenses unless you are trying to indicate a change in time.

Answer:

B. Shift between past and present tense as often as necessary when

writing about literature, but do not use the future tense.

Step-by-step explanation:

Tense changes should not be avoided. However, sometimes a shift in tense is just not necessary to indicate a change in the timeframe, both in fiction or non-ficton writing. The unnecessary shifts in tense may cause awkwardness and it's misuses must be avoided.
