The correct answer is A) It called attention to the many agreements that had been broken by the federal government.

The purpose of the Trail of Broken Treaties was that it called attention to the many agreements that had been broken by the federal government.

This was a nationwide protest in 1972 organized by First Nations and American Indian Organizations to call the attention of the American society to the many unresolved issues they had. Among the many organizations that participated were the National Indian Brotherhood, American Indian Movement, the National American Indian Council, and the National Indian Youth Council. They wrote a 20 points document to state their demands in problems such as inadequate housing, living standards, and treaty rights.
