each number in the box goes in one of the categories on the bottom of the historgram. so if the number is 7, it would go in the first column because it is between 1 and 10, and would go up one number according to the numbers on the left side. in this problem there are 2 numbers between 1 and 10 so the bar graph goes up to the 2 line.
