Suppose your blood has too low ph. How can your body correct this?

By increasing depth and rate of pulmonary ventilation

Doing this causes more H+ ions not to be free but to combine with HCO3- to make H2CO3 which then makes more CO2 and H20 at the lung. The CO2 is then removed from the system leaving only water.
