For this case we have by definition, that the volume of a sphere is given by:

V = \frac {4} {3} \pi * r ^ 3

Where:

r: It is the radius of the sphere

If the radius is divided by 3 we have:

\frac {r} {3}:

V = \frac {4} {3} \pi * (\frac {r} {3}) ^ 3\\V = \frac {4} {3} \pi * \frac {r ^ 3} {27}\\V = \frac {4} {81} \pi * r ^ 3

ANswer:

the volume decreases considerably because the denominator increases
