The reason why the pesticides are used so much is so that the tree is not attacked by diseases and pests and the bananas to get destroyed.

The usage of pesticides actually contributes to the tree growing taller and being healthier, as the diseases and pests are mostly eliminated. The bananas themselves are too larger and in higher quantity, so the demand on the market is largely satisfied.
