Using the scale drawing we can apply the rules of three of proportions to find the actual width.

Thus, set the ratio of the scale drawing length to width, equal to the ratio of the actual length to width:


(6.1)/(1.8) = (122)/(x)

Cross multiply


6.1*x = 122*1.8

Divide both sides by 6.1


x = (122*1.8)/(6.1)


x = 36

Actual width of the rectangle = 36 in.
