How was the work of Dorothea Dix similar to that of Thomas Gallaudet?How was it different?

Dorothea Dix and Thomas Gallaudet both helped teach people in need. Dix specialized or helped people in prison, people who had mental illnesses or just were in need. Gallaudet however, made it his goal to teach and help the Deaf learn. So as you can see, they both help people in need, but they specialize in different areas.
