the width of a rectangle is half as long as the length. The rectangle has an area of 98 square feet. What are the length and width of the rectangle?

Let's call them: W and L

Then area: A = W × L

We can replace: L = 2 × W

So: A = W × 2W=98→

2W^2=98 →W^2=98/2=49

→W=√49=7

→L=2×W=2×7=14

Conclusion: The rectangle is 7*14 ft
