Throughout the film, there is a racial tension between the players. The only way they can become united is if they share a like-mindedness. This begins when they have to get to know one another individually. This identity crisis occurs when each side begins to get to know and understand the other. It surpasses the social norms of society of the time, which is a struggle on both ends.
