Why can a ‘Friend' on Social Media sites, not really be considered a true friend?

I think they can depending on the circumstances. If you have met each other in real life and consider each other friends than I think thats okay but if you havent than of course. You dont know who they really are. People can post pictures that they say are them but they could be pictures of someone else.

They may not be who they say they are and you dont personally know them.
