Question

I have to factorise these...

a) x²-2x-3

And...

b) x²+2x-8

I don't understand any of it...

Well the answer to a) is (x - 3)(x + 1) and the answer to b) is (x + 4)(x - 2)

I don't really know how to describe it because I can do factorials in my head like it is nothing.
