Answer:

L.A. = 384 cm²

S.A. = 640 cm²

Explanation:

We have four congruent triangles with base b = 16cm and height h = 12cm.

The formula of an area of a triangle:

A=(bh)/(2)

Substitute:

A=((16)(12))/(2)=(8)(12)=96\ cm^2

The latearal area:

L.A.=4A\to L.A.=4(96)=384\ cm^2

For the surface area we need the area of a base.

The base is a square with side a = 16cm.

The area of the base:

B=16^2=256\ cm^2

The surface area:

S.A.=L.A.+B\to S.A.=384+256=640\ cm^2
