Answer:

  • Tides. Caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and moon on Earth's oceans.
  • Wind. Wind pushes the water along the surface to form wind-driven currents. (coriolis effect)
  • Thermohaline circulation. The differences in temperature and salinity, or salt content in water play a part in the ocean currents. (water density)
