hello,

here is your answer:

**********

Robert Hooke discovered cells. While examining a thin slice of cork, Robert Hooke saw that the cork resembled the structure of a honeycomb - consisting of many little compartments. This happened in the year 1665, when Robert Hooke made a chance observation through a self designed microscope. Robert Hooke called these little compartments 'cells'.

hope this helped,

Answer: Robert Hooke in 1665 discovered the cell

Step-by-step explanation:

The cell was first discovered and named by Robert Hooke in 1665. He remarked that it looked strangely similar to cellula or small rooms which monks inhabited, thus deriving the name. However what Hooke actually saw was the dead cell walls of plant cells (cork) as it appeared under the microscope
