The civil rights movement was a move to earn freedom from discrimination. The people of African American descent were treated unique equally, because of their race. The movement also established equal opportunity in employment, as well as housing and education. Public facilities were restricted to black people, but after this movement, all facilities were open to the whole public. the right to vote was also added and fought for in the movement. Today we can see how this movement was impacted our society and helped us develop a belief that we are equal no matter what race and ethnic background, and that we should all be treated equally.
