All sorts of things were affected. The textile industry, the iron and steel industry and the transportation industry went through transformations during the Industrial Revolution.
With the textile industry changing, human enrgy was required less and less. During the Industrial Revolution, people discovered inexpensive processes for mass-production in steel and iron. Both iron and steel became important. They are used to make just about everything. This effected tools, buildings and even infrastructure.
Even though all this was great for the middle and upper class, the living conditions and employment were very poor for the lower class.
