Apart from the financial needs, which ultimately includes food ingredients, housing and clothing, a child has the need to be and feel safe and loved. A parent is expected to protect their child from dangers which a child may be unable to immediately recognize; provide care through affection and tasks and parental advice; and teach their child to be mannered or disciplined in a way that is acceptable within their society.
