The energy change occurs from solar energy to the chemical energy via the food chain.

Explanation:

The food chain (calorific flow) refers as energy flow is being seen in the food web of an ecosystem. These are in 3 tropic levels through which energy is being flowed in the ecosystem and has various forms of changing energy.

Solar energy absorbed by the Autotroph and then transformed into chemical energy taken up by the Heterotroph. This is the transfer form of energy within the different levels of consumers.

Finally, these are taken up by the Decomposer, who change the molecular chemical energy to elemental chemical energy in the soil.
