I find it easier just to solve the system of equations:

x + 4 = 3x - 1

5 = 2x

x = 5/2 = 2.5

y = x+4 = 6.5

The second equation has a negative y-intercept and a (more) positive slope, so makes a triangle with the axes in the 4th quadrant.
