5 ways the the cotton gin affected the south was it helped them get all the seeds out of the cotton gin easily. 2 it helped them get the cotton faster, 3 it stopped some slavery by exchanging for the the cotton gin, 4 The cotton gin also allowed companies to make more profit easily, and 5 the cotton gin also made it easier on farmers, and made it take less time to be one the farm.
