Was nationalism a cause of world war 1?

Yes it was, along with militarism, imperialism and alliances. This was especially true in Serbia, where Serbian nationalism helped lead to the assassination of Austria’s archduke Ferdinand, sparking WWI.

I think it was the part of the cause but im not 100% sure. Nationalism and Imperialism were both important factors in bringing WWI about.
