what basic difference of opinion originally caused the rise of political parties in the united states?

federalists was the first political parties. after the independence, the founding fathers had to form the first govt. they argued among themselves on how it should look. the federalists wanted a big strong fed govt n got together to make sure it happen.

A difference in opinions on the role and size of the federal government. Those who wanted a big federal government formed the Federalists party while those who preferred state governments retained more rights were the anti-Federalists. That was the beginning of political parties in the US.
