the minimum value means the vertex, and to find the vertex use the formula -b/2a which would give you -2 which is the axis of symmetry then plug in -2 for x to get the minimum value. 2(-2)^2 + 8(-2) + 6 = 8 - 16 + 8 = -2 .the vertex point would be (-2,-2)
