What are som uses for aluminium oxide?

Aluminum Oxide is mostly used for its strength, and is a cheap substitute for industrial diamond. Most sandpaper also uses Aluminum Oxide crystals. It can also be used in cooking pans due to its very slow reaction with oxygen, and its high boiling point.
