What causes mutations in a gene

it can be caused by ultraviolet radiation from the sun or if an error is made in the DNA cells ( hope this helps!)

A mutation can either be passed down as a hereditary trait, but most mutations of the gene can be triggered by something such as radiation from the sun, or if an error is made in cell division as DNA copies itself
