The sun gives energy to the plant, the plant gives energy to the animal, and the animal gives energy to you. And for everytime energy is carried through an organism it will lose ten times its original amount (ex: starting with 5000 j of energy for the plant the next time the energy is carried the next organism, the animal will only gain 500 j of energy)
