Add up all the sides of pentagon, and make them equal to 69. After that, isolate “y” and solve for “y”. Then, plug in your answer for “y” into the side “AB” and you should have your final answer.

Okay, the total is 69 units.
(3y)+(12)+(y+1)+(2y+3)+(11)=69
Combine like terms
6y+27=69
Subtract 27 from both sides.
69-27=42
Divide by 6 on both sides
42/6=7
y=7
Plug it into the length of AB
2(7)+3
14+3
length of AB=17
