3x-4y-8=12

first combine like terms

3x-4y=12+8

then isolate on variable

3x=20+4y

now divide by three to find x

x=20/3+4/3 x=8

to find y plug in x to the original equation

3(8)-4y-8=12

24-4y=20

-4y=20-24

-4y=-4

y=1

Answer:

x = 6.67

Explanation:

Rewrite the equation:

-4y = -3x +20

y =
(3)/(4) x-5

Find where y = 0

0 =
(3)/(4) x -5

5 =
(3)/(4) x

x = 6.67

Hope it helps! (:
