Here is your answer

A concentrated acid has
{H}^(+) ions. When it is diluted with water the number of
{H3O}^(+) (hydronium ions) per unit volume decreases and thus the concentration of hydronium ions is reduced.

Answer: An acid dissociates into hydronium ions and anions when dissolved in water. Upon dilutation, the volume of solution increases and the number of Ions per unit volume decreases.
