Hello!

The answer is: Tara is 24.6 miles from her starting point.

Why?

Since she first drives to the north, and then to the east, we can find how far is Tara from her starting point by using the Pythagorean Theorem.

The Pythagorean Theorem states that:

a^(2) =b^(2)+c^(2)

a=Displacement\\b=22miles(north)\\c=11miles(east)

Therefore,

Displacement=\sqrt{22miles^(2) + 11miles^(2)}=√(484 + 121)\\diagonal=√(605)=√(400.57)=24.59miles=24.6miles

So, Tara is 24.6 miles from her starting point and her displacement is 24.6 miles northeast.
