A prepositional phrase starts with a preposition and adds information to the sentence and the nouns or verbs they are describing. There are MANY prepositions, but some of the most common are: to, of, on, in, over, above, upon, across, for, by, inside, from, with, at. Examples of prepositional phrases (which are underlined): In the morning, I will go see my aunt at my mom's house with the green shutters.
