Europe had control over most of Africa and Asia. Under imperialism, stronger nations like Europe attempted to create empires by dominating weaker nations-economically, politically, culturally, or militarily.

European Imperialism grew in the late 19th century (late 1800s) because European powers wanted to expand their empire and expand their empire’s power, and to do this conquered land in Africa and Asia by using their military technology to defeat African and Asian forces.
