-2 times positive 1x = -2x, so place that in parentheses as well. Use a plus sign in the parentheses instead of a negative sign to show that the 2x is positive. (1x is equivalent to x)

Lastly, -2 times positive one is -2, so add that in as well. Make sure you use that plus sign to show the one is positive!
