Answer: Choice D) x < -2 and x > -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Look at the curve where it is below the horizontal x axis. This is to the left of the vertical asymptote x = -2 and to the right of the vertical asymptote x = -1. So that's how I'm getting x < -2 and x > -1. Basically it's every x value but the stuff in between the vertical asymptotes. The vertical asymptotes themselves aren't counted as well, because the curve slowly approaches the asymptotes but never actually gets there.

side note: the portion of the curve on the interval -2 < x < -1 is above the x axis so this part is positive
