How do you find the area of a complex shape​

separate the shape into two regular shapes (like rectangle or triangle, find the areas for those and then just add them together

if you break down the complex shape into smaller shapes, you can find the area of those shapes much easier, and add all the total areas to get the area for your complex shape. i hope that helped :)
