The Chinese invented the paper in 100 BC, which we use until today. Not only that, they're also responsible for the existence of gun powder and the old technology for printing which ended up making possible mass distribution of newspapers and books. They also created the compass and they were the first to use a seismograph, two contributions that are go beyond time.
