Explain the following statement: “Leaders of the movement believed that if women had the vote, they could use it to gain other rights.”

in my own understanding

I think that the leaders believe that women would have additional rights if they had the vote (to he honest I don't know what vote is that). since the early ages women were not given equal and unjust rights, if they had the vote, leaders believed that women would gain more additional rights
