Fatima wants to add a 20% tip on a $56 restaurant bill.

Which strategy can she use to find a reasonable estimate for the tip?

1) Round 56 to 60, find 10%, then double it.

2) Round 56 to 50, find 10%.

3) Round 56 to 60, then find 50%.

4) Round 56 to 60, then find 10%.

It seems like it would be 1. I don’t know how to do that but 56 is rounded to 60 and if you find 10% and double it that would make it 20 I assume

Answer:

The answer is A) Round 56 to 60, find 10%, then double.

Explanation:

You would round to 60 because 56 is closer to 60 than 50 then 10% is half of 20% so you would double it after you found 10% of 60.

Hope this helps :)
