The key issue is that the majority of Louisiana citizens liked what Huey Long wanted to do but weren't okay with paying for it. Nice things cost money.

So, they could have either a. rejected the programs or b. raised taxes.

How could Louisianans have used the democratic process to stop Huey Long from putting the state in so much debt?
