Can someone please help me solve each system of linear equations by substitution.

5.)

2x - 3y = -24

x + 6y = 18

6.)

x - 2y = 5

3x - 5y = 8

I do not understand this and I need help with it so please try and showing the steps you did to find the answer if you get one. Thank you for your help!

I'm not good at explaining things but I do know how to do the problem

5. 2x-3y=-24

x+6y=18 -> -2(x+6y=18) = -2x-12y=-36

distribute -2 ^

2x-3y=-24 x+6(-4)=18

-2x-12y=-36 x -24 = 18

0-15y= -60 +24 = +24

-15 = -15 x= 42

y = 4 (42,4)

6. x-2y=5

3x-5y=8

x-2y= 5 -> -3(x-2y=5)

-3x+6y= -15

3x-5y=8 x-2y=5

0+ 1y= 7 x-2(7)=5

1 = 1 x-14=5

y = 7 +14= +14

x = 19 (19,7
